Icon development
Objective:
Turn an in-depth object study that consists of various digital translations of a simple desk fan to an icon identity and possible packaging.
Physical Sketches
Sketches began by breaking down each visible fan component, adding layers to take from the most abstract to the most detailed. Then I moved from pencil to marker to focus on the most important features while staying true to the literal form.
Icon Study One
Here are the literal sketches, digitized. The left is true to life as it encapsulates every detail of the fan while the sketch to the right eliminates lines that are not necessarily needed to represent the object.
Icon Study Two
Here is a more implied ideation of the fan through adding a transparent and off-set, set of blades and bringing the lines in the cage to a point to show motion despite this iteration being a simplification.
Icon Deconstructed
Brand Identity
Concept: Utilizing Icon Exploration #2, make a Room Air freshener that dispells essential oils through a fan/ propeller. Offered in three fragrances: Blushing rose, musky meadows, and blue lavender
